The common name for this genus helps in the identification. Both our local species have a vertical line of trash (also insect remains and, at times, egg sacs)extending above and below the web hub. The spider sits at the center of this line and blends in. Unlike C.conica, C. turbinata usually has two dorsal abdominal humps. Click here to view the female.
